All sprays are slow poison as well as fire hazards. Regular use may cause health problems. Never use the spay close to the open fires. Using in closed rooms or inside the cars and lighting matchstick or using inflammable materials may cause fire. The poor girl lost her life without knowing its adverse affects.

Very tragic, but difficult to believe a body spray, by mistake, sprayed inside the oral cavity can cause the death of a healthy fully grown young adult?? Definitely the spray might be a spurious refilled one, which are freely available on the roadside in some places, nobody knows what chemicals these guys use to refill the cans!! Similarly there is a big racket of refilling costly alcohol brand bottles with local IMFL and selling to gullible customers at high rates!!

Incidentally in recent times a no. of deaths have occurred in DK by a prominent brand of rat killing paste which is marketed in tubes resembling that of a toothpaste tube mostly by some elderly and young children mistaking it for toothpaste and using the same for brushing!!

The common ingredient used to prevent bacteria from multiplying & causing bad odor is Triclosan, which is now found in Pastes,deodorants,soaps, furniture, kitchenware, clothing & toys as well.
This was first registered in 1969 with EPA as pesticide in USA. This ingredient affects muscles performance including heart function slowing it down, which might have caused her heart to reduce its beat & thereby affect her blood pressure to fall & finally to death.
This ingredient is also known to disrupt hormone production such as Thyroid if used regularly.
The best thing is to avoid using them to combat bad odor let alone used as mouth fresh spray. The other methods of following better hygiene rid the bad odor without the side effects.

Triclosan could not have killed a young adult because it is also commonly used in mouth washes and sprays!! But, as mentioned, Triclosan is a generalized poison and effects all the organs of the body including men's fertility!!

It might have or it might not have, all these are assumptions, but Triclosan in large doses directly sprayed into mouth getting into lungs when breathing, which directly enters all the cells including heart muscles through blood circulation getting oxygen from lungs, which has been found to reduce heart beat in experiments is most likely cause.

It is a FACT that Triclosan is liberally used in toothpastes, mouthwashes etc.!! To kill an adult one would have to drink a bottle of 'Triclosan' not just by spraying in the mouth!!

Would you inhale or drink Triclosan when using in the form of paste, mouthwash or throw it out?
Here in this case breathing in directly into the lungs can cause death, in those persons who might be allergic to the substance coupled with toxicity reducing the heart beat is most likely cause.
Sir you are free to ingest as much as you want, the intention of mentioning the most possible cause is to warn others to avoid this case again with ignorance.

Here again Triclosan is not only single chemical but a combination of propellant,perfume along with other chemicals which together act in a more toxic concoction of toxic gas entering the LUNGS & directly to blood stream with very potent lethal reaction shutting down the system in a fatal way.
Why are you worried sir, use it liberally, it won't affect you in any case with all your knowledge its important for you,but not for other defenseless people.

Very sad incident, may be she tried to she the effects of it (experimenting) poor girl, may her Soul rest in Peace and God give strength to the family to bare the loss. The family should file a suit against the manufacturers for not mentioning it as Poison, just imagine about kids and infants who just try to put in their mouths what ever is handy. Its better to publish the brand name of the spray so that parents may be a little more careful about these products.

@Jawar,mumbai,what you are saying to file a case ?why?she was not a child,certainly when she misuses a Body spray as mouth freshner whose fault?Since you are in Mumbai ,you must have known road side children /adults who are taking drugs etc.using sprays inhale them as drugs.with help of plastic bag.who knows this Girl also had experiencewith such misuse?Her spray must have been too much in mouth ,gone in resperatory tract and breathing was effected.or swallowed some?It also is known ina closed room use Deo spray sprayed and just light candle or cigarettes is causing Explosion and People die.due to severe burns.so oneshould be careful in using sprays.second important about Deo,sprays is there are alumineum particles which are taken up from Body ,may cause breast cancer too,.It is scientifically prooved.Thtaswhy nowadays they try to produce Deo sprays without alu.particles.so be careful to use deos.

I heard long back, one guy wanted to attend relative's wedding function and sprayed half bottle "Attar" (his friend gifted him) on his body..He did not go to wedding hall but ended up in ICU...

In antoher case in Dubai,one man came on visit visa from Kerala,after trying for a job,he got an interview call..so,while going for interview,he pumped piff paff spray(cockroach killing spray) on his body..he didn't notice it in a hurry and excitement..from that day onwards,his friends started calling him Piff Paff Ramendran..!!

Something fishy!, body spray doesn't have that potential chemical to kill someone. Agree that those contains chemicals that is harm to human health, may have links to cancer causing, but I don't agree that it could kill someone just for inhaling. A quick google search gave me an answer that, a grown person should consume at least 800-900 (depend on body build) grams of chemicals like ALCOHOL DENATURED, HYDRO-FLUOROCARBON 152A that are common ingredients of body spray.

You know now a days body spray just comes with "GAS" !
