BSKB Association celebrates anniversary of Senior Citizen's home

Mumbai, Nov 18: BSKB Association Sion's sister concern, Ashrayadhama, Nerul home for the aged held their eighth anniversary at V H Someshwar auditorium recently. President of the Sangha and guests lit the traditional lamp and set the programme in motion.



Senior citizens in Ashraya under the direction of Sindhu Nayar performed Dandiya and Garbha dances. Youth in the Sangha under the direction of comedian Sahana Bharadwaj entertained the audience with various forms of dance. Vidya Rao rendered cultural programme.

President of the Sangha, Dr Suresh S Rao presided over the stage programme. B Narayana, community president, Reliance Industries, had arrived as Chief guest. Y Gururaj, Managing director of Shalimar Valves and M H Muralidhar, director Sameer Sanghvi Association had arrived as Guests of honor.

Ashrarya president Vaman Holla in his key note address, welcomed the guests. The president of the Sangha and office bearers presented shawls and flower bouquets to the guests and honored them. Ashraya Executive Chandravathi Rao explained the way Ashraya progressed and functions. The guests of honor expressed their joy at the way senior citizens are spending their life in Ashraya.

Chief guest B Narayan speaking on the occasion, said that it is the duty of society to look after senior citizens. BSKB Association in discharging its duty has become a model association, he said.

The annual star of Ashraya award sponsored by senior member of the Sangha, Rathna Acharya was presented to senior citizen in Ashraya, Balaji Ayyar. Chitra Melmane compered the programme. Ashraya secretary Prashanth Herle proposed Vote of thanks. In the condolence meeting, departed senior member of the Sangha, late Ananthakrishna Hebbar was paid homage.
