Mangaluru: Tulu movie 'Ice Cream' to release across DK, Udupi on Nov 20

Mangaluru, Nov 18: Much-awaited Tulu movie 'Ice Cream', directed and produced by Mangaluru-based journalist Pritham Sagar, is all set to release on Friday November 20.

The movie will be released in 13 theatres across Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. With about 50 shows a day, the movie is set to create a record in Tulu movie industry, said director Pritham Sagar, addressing a press meet here.

"The movie is more than just a family entertainer. It is a mixture of comedy, action, horror and love," he added. The movie, in fact, is slated to be the first in the horror genre in Tulu.

Mangaluru's 'Rockstar' R J Rupesh Shetty and Anvitha Rao, both debutants, will be seen in the lead roles. Dinesh Attavar and Manohar Prasad have played minor roles in guest appearances.

The movie has been co-directed by BTV journalist Venu Gopal Shetty, and co-produced by Navitha Jain, also a journalist.

Chethan Rai, Rohini Jagaram, Daijiworld's Dayanand Kukkaje, Vijay Mayya, Arun Chandra and others are among the cast.

Rajesh Haleangady has done the cinematography. The movie has three three songs with music by Madan Mohan, background score by Diwan Giridar and lyrics by Pritham Sagar M.

    Something new concept in tulu movie Ice cream ... Eagerly waiting to see the movie... All the best for the movie ... Daijis Daya Kukkaje is a multi talented personality... ICE CREAM...This delicious yummy dish most memorable in my life same like other like minded one . When I was altar boy during break I along with my friends like remy , vidlo, dakto, my brother in law giru Gladys brother used to visit goplams hotel come ice cream parlour. That time there' was no full pledged ice cream parlour...Many times we got beatings from priest . Ha ha ha those days will not be repeated .

    As we want everything in Kannada like Mangaluru for Mangalore, Mahaveera Circle for Pumpwell, Kempegowda Airport for Bangalore International Airport and even few wants Tulunadu for Dakshin Kannada, this ICE CREAM could have titled PULI MUNCHI OR AMBADE SAMBAR OR RAAGI IDLI. When it comes to such things we want English or western culture and feel shame about our own language and culture.
