Kundapur, Nov 19: A shopkeeper and his father were assaulted by two youngsters and the shop was damaged in Neralakatte near here on Wednesday November 18 night.

Santosh Devadiga is the person seriously injured in the assault. His father Koraga Devadiga too has been injured. Santosh Shetty and Raviraj Shetty are the accused.

As per details, Asodu residents Santosh Shetty and Raviraj Shetty came to Santosh Devadiga’s small shop at around 9.30 pm on Wednesday night. Santosh Devadiga and his father Koraga Devadiga both were present at that time in the shop and they were serving the customers. When the duo demanded that they should be served immediately, Koraga Devadiga said that others who came earlier will be served first. Angered by this, the duo assaulted Koraga Devadiga. Santosh Devadiga who tried to stop the assault on his father was assaulted with soda bottles.

Santosh Devadiga has sustained serious injuries to his hand and leg. After the assault the duo took out the goods from the petty shop and threw them outside. When the locals came after hearing about the assault on father and son and damage to the shop, the assaulters fled away from there.

Father and son have been admitted to the government hospital in Kundapur.

Kundapur police have registered a case.

A CRUEL ACT ON THE PART OF THE DUO. What is pertinent is that the pair ran away when the saw the crowd. It is a question of time before the cowards are nabbed by the police and severely punishment.

I don't think major investigation required. It's evident with so many eye witnesses that both the goondas are the culprits. So, please get us the good news that both the shetty's are in custody. When its from other communities we scribe a lot... and now it's with in our own community. So, let's not take it lightly. same justice for any communities. Please accelerate the search, catch hold of them and punish severely.
