Kundapur, Nov 19: Tahsildar of the taluk, Gayatri Nayak, had reently been transferred to Gokak as tahsildar. However, her transfer order stands cancelled at the last minute.
She was transferred to Gokak without naming any replacement in her place. It is gathered that the presence of tahsildar is felt to be utmost importance in view of the fact that election to local bodies is fast approaching. As none was posted in her place, her transfer had to be cancelled, it is gathered. The district deputy commissioner said that Gayatri Nayak will continue to function as the tahsildar of this taluk.
Sometime back, Gayatri had been transferred to Udupi as tahsildar. But in that instance too her transfer was cancelled at the last moment.
