Daijiworld Media Network-Beltangady (RJP)

Beltangady, Nov 20: Four persons were arrested by Beltangady police for creating chaos in the police station and threatening them with revolver on Thursday, November 19.

Dayananda B (37), Ranganatha Bhat (46), Ravi (40), all from Hassan and Basavaraja Kodachi (27) from Belagavi are the persons arrested. A Swift car and a revolver have been seized from the arrested persons.

As per details, the accused came in a car and barged into Beltangady police station on Thursday afternoon. They started misbehaving with the police with abusive words. Dayanand who did most of the talking claimed to know top police officials of the state and mentioned their names. He even told the police to phone the top police officials if they wanted to confirm his claim. He talked with authority to all the police staff including head constable Lokanatha and clicked photos of the police station and the staff. When Lokanatha objected to his behaviour Dayananda pushed him. When police staff Harish came to Lokanatha’s rescue, Dayananda and his team confronted him too. Then Dayananda took out a revolver and pointed it at the police personnel saying he would shoot them.

After minutes of chaos, ultimately Harish, a person named Karim and others managed to overpower the accused and snatched the revolver from Dayananda.

Dayananda claimed he was president of Human Rights Federation and produced a card stating he was ‘President Central Council, Human Rights Federation’.

It is said that Dayananda was drunk. Police have registered a case under various sections and investigation is on. Conspiracy is suspected.

Police department and personnel are for maintaining law and order and to protect citizens. Now a days there are many incidents where police personnel treated as jokers. No mercy should be shown to any one who takes police for granted. How we can expect law and order if incidents like this happens. Moreover corruption and bribery especially in the lower rungs of police department has undermined their dignity.

There is no such thing as Human Rights Federation. Dayanand may be a blackmailer misusing that fake ID.
There are hundreds of such fake Human Right Activists and RTI Activists whose main job is to blackmail the people and extract money.
