Mangaluru: Delicious start for 'Ice Cream' Tulu movie in theatres across DK, Udupi

Mangaluru, Nov 20: Much-awaited Tulu movie 'Ice Cream', touted to be the first horror movie in Tulu, directed and produced by Mangaluru-based journalist Pritham Sagar, was released on Friday November 20 in theatres across Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.

The official release of the movie was held at Jyothi theatre, with former CREDAI president Pushparaj Jain inaugurating the formal ceremony by lighting the traditional lamp.

In his address, Pushparaj Jain wished all success to the movie and lauded the Tulu film industry for the way it has advanced in recent times. He also urged the people of Tulunadu to continue their support to Tulu films.

Addressing the gathering, Pandeshwar police inspector Dinakar Shetty said, "The name of the movie is very nice, and I am sure the movie is also very good. This is the first movie in the Tulu industry with a storyline involving horror, thriller, comedy and love. A lot of people are waiting here to watch this film and I hope it will be a big hit and a great success."

Director Pritham Sagar said, "The movie is being released in 13 theatres across Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. With about 50 shows a day, it is set to create a record in Tulu movie industry. It is more than just a family entertainer and has something for every viewer."

Mangaluru's 'Rockstar' R J Rupesh Shetty and Anvitha Rao, both debutants, are the lead actors in the movie. Dinesh Attavar and Manohar Prasad have played minor roles in guest appearances.

The movie has been co-directed by BTV journalist Venu Gopal Shetty, and co-produced by Navitha Jain, also a journalist.

Chethan Rai, Rohini Jagaram, Daijiworld's Dayanand Kukkaje, Vijay Mayya, Arun Chandra and others are among the cast.

Rajesh Haleangady has done the cinematography. The movie has three three songs with music by Madan Mohan, background score by Diwan Giridhar and lyrics by Pritham Sagar M.

Namitha Jain, Manohar Prasad, Devadas Pandeshwar, other cast and crew of the movie were present.
