Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Nov 20: MLC Ivan D'Souza in a press statement has clarified that contrary to reports in a section of the media, he has not asked the chief minister to provide compensation to the family of Madoor Isubu.

Madoor Isubu, who was lodged in Mangaluru district jail, was murdered in a gang war on November 2. His associate Ganesh Shetty was also killed.

Ivan D'Souza said that several leaders of Muslim organizations in the city had approached him and asked him to meet the ministers concerned, and he arranged only a meeting with them and the chief minister.

"Other than arranging the meeting, I have not submitted any appeal to the chief minister, nor acted on the memorandum given by the delegation," he said.

MP's, MLA's & MLC's represent people of particular area in the Country. Their job is to make Law together with other elected officials like them, Represent people and ask questions and maters closer to the people of their area at Parliament & Legislative meetings and other meetings. Arrange meeting with people/group of their area, recommend the people/groups of their area to Government Agencies and ministers concerned. It is the job of the Agency/minister to give grants & compensation to people. in Short you elect your agent to do your work. not a master get services from you.

    Mr. Paul, mangalore,
Isubu is accused & if you like it or not, he is your fellow Citizen and not Convicted by court. it is the job of elected official to help all persons of his district with out judging. It is the job of the court to judge the person not yours/mine or Ivan. Compensation/grants are given by concerned Government Agency not by Ivan. If you don't like compensation paid to your fellow Citizen ask the court to stop it.
