Mangaluru: Kids 'Regale' in fun-filled Children's Day event at Lourdes Central School

Mangaluru, Nov 21: Lourdes Central School, Bejai celebrated Children's Day with 'LCS Regale-2015' on Saturday November 21.

Fr Wilson Vitus D'Souza along with other digniteries inaugurated the event by releasing balloons into the air.

International School Award (ISA) by British Council conferred on the school in a ceremony held at Chennai was handed over to the principal Fr Robert D'Souza by parish priest of Bejai, Fr Wilson Vitus D'Souza. Lourdes Central School has won this award for the third time for the term 2015-18.

Addressing the gathering, Fr Wilson Vitus D'Souza said, "I congratulate the teachers and the students of the school on winning this award. I wish all the children on this happy Children's Day. Every child is born with a story to tell and a song to sing. It cannot be substituted by anyone. We have to help children accomplish their dream. If we do not help them then it will not happen. It is our duty to help each child develop in every aspect."

Various cultural programmes and fun activities were conducted thus celebrating Children's Day in its true spirit.

The new grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes, the patron saint of Lourdes Central School, was inaugurated on the occasion.

Fr Robert D'Souza welcomed the gathering.

Nirmal D'Souza, vice-president of Bejai Church parish council, Belita Mascarenhas, vice-principal of Lourdes Central School, Preethi Ballal, vice-president of PTAE, Augustine Rodrigues, Shalet Patrao, members of management committee, head boy Keith and head girl, Aishwarya Mathew were present.
