Bengaluru, Nov 22: A woman has been admitted to a hospital with serious injuries after she was knocked down by a lorry while she was trying to avoid a pothole.

Girijamma (38) is the person injured. The accident took place near Ramakrishna ashram in Basavanagudi on Saturday, November 21.

As per details, Girijamma was on her way to school on a two- wheeler to pick her children from the school. She slowed down after a seeing a pothole on the road when a concrete –mixer lorry hit her from behind. But the driver of the lorry applied brakes in time and stopped the lorry from running over Girijamma.

The doctors said that Girijamma may require multiple surgeries with her fractured leg, severely injured muscles and leg bone exposed. Girijamma also has the risk of losing her leg and being crippled for life. Girijamma’s husband Purshotham is a clerk in a private school.

The area corporator D N Ramesh blamed the driver and said there was no pothole at the place at present and the pothole which existed there was filled 15 days back. But the eyewitnesses said that the pothole was primarily responsible for the accident. Police refused to confirm anything pending investigation and have arrested the driver.

Why don't we nominate "Corporator D N Ramesh " for a Padmashree award. He is having a very bright future in politics. What a shame man. Eye witnesses are saying pothole is the prime reason. and this joker is saying , potholes filled 15 days before... come on sir... may be like you don't know whats happening where kind of... happens.. everything is feasible in India.

Mr Corporator, you say all the potholes have been filled in 15 days back, while eye witnesses say pothole was the reason for the accident, this shows the quality of your work (just 15 days - potholes are back)

ONLY GOVT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL ACCIDENTS.

DO THE ROAD CONSTRUCTION PROPERLY. DEVELOPMENT ALL LATER.

Guys see. just for curiousity i commented Mr. Modi should answer for potheholes in Bangalore, and as of now 19 readers agree my comments with out checking because i told modi to answer.Guys think how Mr. Modi is responsible?? if for each and every thing mr. Modi is responsible then what state govt/ MLA / MP / BBMP/ local authority is doing???
Only a prime Minister is enough for India.

this is example for how people use to mislead public in name of Modi.
