Puttur: Beef trade - one held, auto and beef confiscated

Puttur, November 24: Police personnel from Uppinangady station raided a spot at Bolantila, Nekkilady, and arrested a person who was allegedly involved with the making of beef and marketing it. In addition to 50 kg beef, the auto rickshaw used for selling it too was confiscated from his possession.

The identity of the person so arrested has been given as Abdul Rahiman, residing near Gandhi Park in Uppinangady. He had hired a room at Bolantaila which was used for making beef and selling it, policemen claimed. The said raid, conducted on the basis of reliable information, was led by station house officer, Timmappa Naik. When the policemen reached the spot, the accused was loading beef into his three-wheeler, it is learnt.

Along with stock of beef, the auto rickshaw and remains of a slaughtered cow were also seized during the raid. A case was registered in Uppinangady police station in this connection.
