Bengaluru: Break hands and legs of offenders, says MLA

Bengaluru, Nov 26 (DHNS): “If I am made Home minister, I will change the law and order atmosphere in the State to ensure the safety of women. I can do it. I will take it as a challenge”.

So said former Speaker and senior Congress leader K R Ramesh Kumar during a discussion in the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday.

It all began with Ramesh Kumar stating that police should break the hands and legs of habitual offenders who committed crime against women.

A visibly enraged Bengaluru Development Minister K J George shot back, “We have to follow law..... can what you say be done ?”.

When Ramesh Kumar insisted it was possible, George said, “We will recommend the chief minister and the party high command that Ramesh Kumar be made Home Minister”.

Kumar said he would bring changes in the system within one month.

Earlier, Ramakka (BJP) said crime against women can be curbed only if five to six rapists are hanged to death.

Vinisha Nero (nominated) said culprits who commit atrocities against women were getting away due to weak laws.

Just this boasting words are a reason not to make him a Minister.Didnt we hear many of them telling many promises?Where are These. This is only one trick to want to become the chair. And noone has the right to break legs and Hands of a Person even a offender.when a cow is not supposed to be harmed why a Person?A court can order punishment, but not a Minister or any other.Where are we?Have a Person of a Independent Nation no rights?Of course when a woman is raped ,should be punished when a Minister says so,police may catch the Person and do what they want or any private persons.WE have enough goondas around. No with this Statement he doesnt earn any flowers. He found a loopehole to mesmerize People.

Mr Ramesh Kumar though an honest politician makes such statement for being in news. He is a ministerial aspirant and able but i don't endorse such statement which cannot be implemented in democratic country .Further being a lawayer he knows that due process need be done before awarding any punishment

Can such threats be made on the floor of the house? When a person who threatened to behead the CM was put behind bars why not our MLAs who make such threats on the floor of the house? Is there anyone either in the judiciary or constitutional head who can take action? Will the congress party escape by detaching from such statements or take action against such MLA's?

Come on people talk sense, if you can not act on what you say, then please dont talk at all.

There is dearth of revolutionary speakers in India but implementers.
Many leaders gave so many tall claims like improvement in law and order, 15 lakhs, crimeless society, cost economy etc. and now in hibernation.
One who talks more, seldom delivers!
