Chitradurga: Stones pelted at temple - case registered against six

Chitradurga, Nov 26: Miscreants pelted stones at Lord Ayyappa shrine at Shivalingappa Extension, Holalkere in the district on Wednesday November 25. Relating to the incident, the policemen have registered case against six persons.

In addition to throwing stones at the roof of the temple, the mischief mongers burnt down a television set kept inside the shrine, and fled after placing a green flag at the spot.

The said shrine is located at Shivalingappa Extension since about two decades. On Wednesday, Sabarimala pilgrims had offered puja at the shrine and were away at Lord Ganapati temple as per their routine, to perform puja there, when the above incident occurred.

Based on a complaint filed by Gangadhar, who heads the managing committee of the shrine, Holalkere police have registered case against six accused including town panchayat member, Syed Khader.
