Kasargod: One dead, another injured after car rams into tree

Kasargod, Nov 26: An elderly person died and another sustained serious injuries after the car in which they were travelling hit a roadside tree at Mavungal here on Thursday November 26.

The deceased has been identified as Isaac John (72), who hailed from Kottayam and was residing at Kadaba. His brother John Mathew (64) was seriously injured.

The accident occurred at Mavungal town when they were returning to Kadaba after attending the funeral of their relative.

It is said that in a bid to avoid hitting a pedestrian, the driver of the car veered to the side of the road and rammed into a tree.

The driver of the car, identified as Haris, escaped unhurt.

Bekal police have registered a case.

    Want to be a hero by escaping unhurt like the driver? Just wear the seat belt! At the most u can expect minor injuries for such an accident. Heartfelt sympathies to his family and relatives for their second loss.
