Ivan accuses BJP legislators of inertia to discuss Yettinahole

Mangaluru, Nov 29: MLC, Ivan D'Souza, addressing a press conference here on Saturday November 28, termed the behaviour of BJP members of legislature in not showing interest to discuss pros and cons of Yettinahole project in the house. He said that the BJP members had only shown interest in discussing the delay in implementation of Yettinahole project.

Ivan said that he had raised his voice in the legislative council and informed the house about the anger of the people of Dakshina Kannada district against this project, and the need to find a proper solution to all the topics raised by the people. "I also had demanded the government to furnish point to point replies. But the opposition leader only said that half an hour should be set aside as this issue needs to be discussed in detail. Even when I pointed out that BJP MP had conducted Padayatra against this project and party was expressing itself strongly against this project in the coast, both BJP members from the coast in the legislative council remained silent," he stated.

Mangalore Urban Development Authoriity chairman, Ibrahim Kodijal, deputy mayor of the city, Purushotham Chitrpur, chief whip, M Shashidhar Hegde, corporator, D K Ashok, and Nazir Bajal were present at the press conference.
