Mangaluru, Dec 1: Police personnel have succeeded in arresting two of the four accused, who allegedly were involved with the theft at Our Lady of Mercy church at Fajir in the taluk on Monday night. The police have been hunting for the two others, who have succeeded in evading arrest so far.
The arrested accused have been identified as Muhammed Mustaq alias Masta (20) from Volachil, and Muhammed Azharuddin (21) from K C Road.
The items stolen were found to have been hidden behind bushes at Harekala Aladka the very day after the theft came to light. A team led by Konaje police sub-inspector, Sudhakar, has been involved with investigation.
