Bus-bike collision near Santhekatte - pillion rider killed

Udupi, Dec 1: A bus hit a motor bike from behind on the evening of Sunday November 29 near Santhekatte on the outskirts of the city. In this incident, pillion rider of the motor bike was killed.

Kakappa (29), a native of Bagalkot and presently staying in a rented home at Santhekatte Gopalapura, lost his life in this accident. He was working as a labourer. Rider of the motor bike, Nagappa (29), was injured. He is being treated in a hospital here.

Both Kakappa and Nagappa were moving towards Ambagilu after filling petrol in a petrol bunk near Ashirwad in Santhekatte, when a private bus knocked them down after hitting the bike from behind. Kakappa, who suffered severe injuries to his head, was pronounced brought dead by the doctors at a private hospital in the city.
