Mangaluru, Dec 1: The hall was fully packed when the second show of the Konkani drama "Paanch Mornam” was held on Sunday, November 29 at Don Bosco hall in the city.
The drama written by columnist and author Richie John Pais was directed by renowned director John M Permannur. ‘Paanch Mornam’ in Konkani means five funerals.
In a brief formal stage programme, veteran drama artiste and social worker Jacintha Clotilda D’Souza was felicitated on the occasion for her achievements in the field of Konkani drama.
Entrepreneur and philanthropist Elias Sanctis who was the chief guest of the event said, "I am happy to witness the second show of the popular drama 'Paanch Mornam’. The first show was a houseful. And for this second show also we can see so much of crowd when the drama is yet to start. That explains the popularity this drama. I am very happy to see Jacintha Clotilda D'Souza, an actress and social worker is honoured today. I have myself witnessed her activities while in Kuwait. The help she rendered to the needy, especially the domestic help, is remarkable and praiseworthy. Jacintha always keeps low profile away from publicity. But the people, who render service to the society, should be remembered. Richie John Pais and his team have recognised the talents in the society by honouring her. I appreciate this gesture. I wish all the best to this popular drama. This drama should witness 100 shows."

Vithori Karkal compered the stage programme with an introduction of history of Konkani drama.
The second show of the 'Paanch Mornam' too drew a large number of spectators who also remained glued to their chairs until the last minute like in the first show. The dialogues evoked a huge round of applause from the audience every now and then. The drama, while narrating the life story of a person who is into social service, also exposes the hypocrites in the present society. Spectators were seen crying at the end of the tragedy drama.
Artistes in the drama were Melvyn Peris Angelore, Jossy Rego Bendur, Martin D'souza Vamanjoor, Clita Noronha Jeppu, Nigel Pereira Milagres, Steven Fernandes Rosario, Sandeep Tellis Panir, Nishma D'Souza Valencia, Shahila D'Almeida Rosario, Alwyn Tauro Rosario, and Vinolyn D'Souza Bendur. Nia Francisca Pais from Rosario made special appearance. Harish was the makeup man. Shabhari provided sounds and lights. Babitha D'Sa had sung the title song written by the drama author and tuned by Ashith Pinto. Jerry Concessao and Leslie Ferrao were in charge of stage management. Leslie Rego had rendered his voice for the introduction.
