Udupi: Man found dead under suspicious circumstances at Manipal bus stand

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (HB)

Udupi, Dec 1: A man was found dead under suspicious circumstances at Manipal bus stand here on Tuesday December 1.

The deceased has been identified as Bhaskar Acharya (58), a resident of Hirebettu.

Bhaskar's body was found at the bus stand with a noose around his neck, indicating suicide.
However, his brother Vittal Acharya in his complaint pointed out that there was no beam or anything else in the bus stand from where Bhaskar could have hanged himself. Vittal thus expressed suspicions that his brother might have been murdered.

Bhaskar was engaged in centring work and would sometimes stay overnight at the workplace. On Monday November 30 night, when he did not return home from work, his wife and children believed that he might have stayed back at the site. However, when he did not come home even in the morning, the worried family began to look for him. A complaint was also filed in the police station.

Meanwhile, members of the public noticed the body lying in the bus stand and informed the police. The deceased was then identified and the family members were informed.

His brother Vittal said that Bhaskar was financially secure and had no family problems, thus there could be no reason for him to end his life. He also added that Bhaskar was a kind-hearted person who had no enmity with anyone.

The body was sent for post-mortem.

Manipal police have registered a case.

not blaming any party or community, it's a complete failure of law and order. Any body can kill anyone, for no reason and remain untracked. How is this possible if there is a fear or scare of the law and order or police. So many murders, so many hit and run cases, suicides which are giving clues on murders... So, in both the districts Mangalore and Udupi, complete failure of law and order.

Sad.Nowadays there are drug addicts for example are even ready for some Money or Gold ornaments(did he have a chain?)to kill anyone if they dont get Money. They must have killed the Person and later dumped the Body in busstand to look like suicide.Heartfelt sympathy to the Family.and may his Soul rest in peace. It s better to inform home People suppose one had to spend the night out of house and whereabouts. It may spare the Problem later like here to home People.
