Mangaluru, Dec 3: Vinod Alva, cine actor from the district who has appeared in films in different languages, was released from the district prison here on Wednesday December 2. His sister as well as relatives, who were waiting outside the prison, received him as soon as he came out of the prison.
The fifth additional district and sessions court at Puttur had granted conditional bail to Vinod Alva on Tuesday. But preparation of papers for securing his release took time, and hence Alva could not be released the same day.
Alva said that the allegation of murder attempt levelled against him has no substance. He said he would be placing all connected facts before the media within a couple of days.
On the complaint filed by a person named Sachidananda that an attempt to kill him was made by dashing a jeep against him at the instance of Vinod Alva, the actor was arrested on November 16.
