Kasargod: Attempt to attack police - one held

Kasargod, Dec 3: A person stands arrested in connection with attempt to assault policemen on duty. The incident had occurred during post-election victory march organized at Uppala connected with local bodies election which concluded recently.

The person now arrested has been identified as Khaleel alias Achchu (22) from Hidayath Nagara in Uppala.

The police have filed complaint against 100 persons who tried to attack the police on security duty on that day. Five persons, who reportedly took leading role in the said attempt, already stand arrested. The arrested persons are being subjected to interrogation.
