'Lady's killer' Ranveer Singh rocks the ramp at menswear fashion show

Mumbai, Dec 3 (IANS): "Gunday" actor Ranveer Singh jived to the beats of singer Seal's song "Killer" and mesmerised attendees at the closing night of the two-day Van Heusen GQ Fashion Nights here.

Sporting a moustache and looking dapper in a black and white ensemble created by ace designing duo Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna, the energetic actor sang and danced his way to the runway to the hit song.

"I wanted a song which went well with Ranveer. The energy which he brought on the stage was just apt. He is a lady’s killer. That’s why we chose the song," Khanna told IANS after the duo's show on Wednesday.

Before posing for the shutterbugs, Ranveer stopped for a while and flaunted his dance moves in front of "Phantom" actress Katrina Kaif, who was dressed in a bold black gown that accentuated her curves.

The collection was dominated by printed suits, some with black and white stripes, high-low hem tops with bottoms and more. Some of the models even carried backpacks, an accessory that Ranveer thought of carrying too.

"It (the white shirt, black pants and jacket look) makes me feel like a million bucks. The collection is smashing, especially the graphic prints. I liked the idea of carrying backpacks so there was this big debate whether I should carry it or not," he said.

The actor was all praise for the designer duo, with whom he has been associated for long.

“They have been supporting me for long.. Even before my first film ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ hit the screens. I was nobody back then and still they supported me. And I am sure they are happy to see my growth," said Ranveer, who will soon be seen on the big screen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's period drama "Bajirao Mastani".

While everyone was in a mood to party after bringing the curtains down on the event, Ranveer got emotional and also spoke about the Chennai floods.

“Whosoever is facing the problem, my heart goes out to them. I have been getting updates from a friend facing the problem. I hope the government helps our brothers and sisters in Chennai. My condolences to everyone who lost their loved ones in the flood. We should do our bit to save the earth," he said.

Commemorating the best of menswear in India, Fashion Nights, a collaboration between GQ India and Van Heusen, showcased trends that are sophisticated and sharp, catering proficiently to urban Indian men.

Celebrated designers like Raghavendra Rathore, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Shantanu & Nikhil and Troy Costa also presented menswear for the discerning men.
