Kejri plea in HC to quash city rally FIR

Mumbai, Dec 5 (TOI): Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, who is also the Aam Admi Party chief, has approached the Bombay high court urging it to quash an FIR registered against him in connection with a political rally in Mankhurd last year.
A division bench of Justice Ranjit More and Justice V L Achliya scheduled the hearing on December 11. The court said Kejriwal was at liberty to approach the magistrate's court to seek exemption from personally attending the trial court hearing. "We will move an application before the magistrate's court seeking personal exemption," senior advocate Mihir Desai, who along with advocate Vijay Hiremath represents Kejriwal, said.

The FIR states that the March 2014 rally did not have permission. The police said noise rules were also violated.
