Udupi: Speeding car hits divider, street pole, two injured

Udupi, Dec 6: In an accident that occured at around 1 am on Sunday December 6, a speeding car hit the divider and a street pole in front of MGM College here on Udupi-Manipal stretch.

It is learnt that Gajanana Nayak (24) and another person who is yet to be identified were driving from Manipal to Udupi. When they reached in front of MGM College, the person who was driving the car lost control of the vehicle and hit the divider.

After hitting the divider, the car smashed into a street pole and dragged it for several metres before coming to a stop.

The air bags probably saved the occupants' lives. Gajanana and the other person have been admitted to hospital.

Sources said that the car was being driven at a high speed.

Udupi traffic police have registered a case.
