Mangaluru: Engineering student abducted, robbed of cash and camera

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Dec 7: An engineering student, who had come to Vamanjoor here to negotiate sale of his camera, was abducted and robbed of his possessions. The incident occurred at Vamanjoor here on Sunday December 6.

The person at the receiving end of this robbery has been identified as Atul Chandrn, an engineering student hailing from Kerala.

Atul had, through a post in OLX website, made known his intention to sell his camera. He had received several offers for the camera. As one of the intending buyers of camera requested Atul to come to Vamanjoor to negotiate the deal, the student went there, it is said. When he was speaking to a person there, some persons who arrived in a car forcibly took Atul Chandran away in their vehicle. They took him to Manjalpade near Moodushedde here, and robbed him of camera and cash, it is alleged.

A case in this connection was filed in rural police station here. Policemen are investigating.

@Ahmed,mangalore,I dont think the one called him to come to magalore revealed his real Name.Such cases are Happening here too. They give a fake Name ,either to sell a marked car,or other valueables ,to come with Money (in real doesnt exist such cars or only in Pictures):and when the Person Comes ,they catch him and rob or even assault him ,leave them in desolate stage.Best is not to go when a unknown Person calls.let them come to buy .Otherside noone knows who wanted to sell camera is genuine one or stolen.

when you are selling in olx always meet the buyer in a crowded public place like a mall.never call these people to your house for small items like camera etc. and never agree to their choice of place.only for furniture and other big items you should call to your house.
