Padubidri-Karkala highway has become an accident zone after recent laying of nice world class roads, at least one good road in Karnataka. The entire stretch is dangerous and has given a free licence for buses to ply in high speed. Good roads are advantageous as well as disadvantageous. It is time more signs and speed breakers are put near village/town areas in between.

What a tragedy this is . May their souls rest in peace we pray & that family may get strength and courage to face this twin loss.
This is nothing but careless/ rash and speedy driving of these private buses, who dont care for smaller vehicles plying on our roads. They need to be taken to task, coz so many innocent lives are just going because of this reckless drivers. It is now evident that authorities let go these drivers while their owners come n pay some amount to hush up the cases. If only authorities suspend / cancel Driving licence of these erring drivers or even suspend / cancel bus permit for some time, they would be careful next time. Since our systems are so loose that these drivers can get away with what ever they do, they still continue to do these kind of horrific things. Concerned Authorities, TRY & Stop this menace please..!!

Karkala-padubidri road was one of the worst on the planet, but there were very few accidents. Now it is perhaps the best with a fatal accident reported every month. Last month, a whole family was sacrificed. The administration has come up with a very foolish idea of installing road blockades which force vehicles in opposite directions to come to the center of the road. These blockades instead of reducing speed are causing more accidents. High time, police deployed speed sensor cameras and fined vehicles plying beyond the speed limit and also made compulsory speed-locks as in APSRTC buses, which have reduced speed-related accidents in AP.

Very sad, may the souls of departed rest in peace. Lack of discipline on the part of all road users. And the abuse of "power" by the bigger vehicles.
