Beltangady, Dec 9: A person is seldom recognized for talents in the money-minded modern world. In such a scenario, an initiative by physically challenged people named ‘Miracle on Wheels’ is indeed a miracle. Nothing stops their spirit.

Sayyed Salauddin is the leader of this troupe. The Troupe with more than 15 members has the objective of enacting dance skits with social messages. Sayyed is trained in Bharatanatyam and Kathak art forms, which are great assets to train and lead the artistes.

Dance performances by this troupe are not plain exhibition of talents. The performances have taught them how to become strong. The performances give them power to remain stronger. The troupe has put up more than 10,000 performances holding Guinness and Limca records. They perform Sufi, Yoga, patriotism songs and dance, folk art and other acts to entertain the people with strong social messages. Applauds form the public is the highest reward for the troupe.

The troupe has performed in national and international levels including attractive programmes in Alva’s Nudisiri and Dharmasthala Laksha Deepotsava. The troupe has won many awards. The team has shown that physically challenged people too are part of society and they should not be looked down upon. Hard work and relentless dedication are inspirations for the team.

The enactment of Mahabharata epic in dance form is beautifully rendered. The show sends the positive signal of religious tolerance in people. They use wheel chairs and sticks to support them. These aides help the physically challenged to live with honour. Their performance also sends a message that public perception on wheel chairs and sticks should change.
