Former Cricketer, BJP MP Navjot Singh Sidhu joining AAP?

Amritsar, Dec 10 (IT) : Former BJP MP from Amritsar Navjot Singh Sidhu being miffed with the party leadership ever since being sidelined during 2014 Lok Sabha election is no secret. Despite representing Amritsar in Lok Sabha for two consecutive terms from 2004 to 2014, the cricketer-turned-politician was denied a ticket for the third time.

Now, speculations are rife that Sidhu may join Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ahead of Punjab Assembly election, which is due in 2017. "We will welcome a person with a clean image. We will welcome Navjot Singh Sidhu if he wants to join AAP," Kejriwal had said recently while responding to a question over Sidhu.

AAP's Punjab in-charge Sanjay Singh also refused to divulge much details and infact termed Sidhu's reported move as mere media speculation. Singh, however, echoed Kejriwal's statement that any politician with a clean image would be welcome in the party.

"Neither AAP nor Sidhu has approached each other," Singh told reporters in Chandigarh on Tuesday, adding, "There is hardly any time left in the current term of the assembly . We will fight the 2017 election on all 117 seats."

Interestingly, Sidhu has kept silent amid all the speculation regarding his move from BJP to AAP, which is looking to repeat its stellar performance of the 2014 Lok Sabha election in the upcoming Assembly polls.

I hope AAP remains a no 'nonsense' party. All honest, bold, daring people should join it, and revolutionize Indian Politics.

AAP are a secular and inclusive party coupled with being 'intolerant' to corruption too which is a good thing but the only places where AAP have an 'impact making' presence are in Delhi, Punjab and to some extent in Haryana. So forget about creating revolution for some time. Till then mahaghatbandhan's of secular parties is all we can depend on for now to kick out the communally intolerant BJP party.
