Udupi: Biker killed in accident - another injured

Udupi, Dec 10: After two motor bikes got involved with head-on collision at Golimara in Haluvalli village on Hebri-Brahmavar road, one of the riders lost his life. The incident occurred on Wednesday December 9 afternoon.

The accident occurred when Iqbal (33) was moving in his motor bike towards Petri from the direction of Hebri. His two-wheeler hit a motor bike being driven by Raghavendra, which was coming from the opposite direction. Iqbal, who was bleeding profusely, was rushed to a private hospital at Brahmavar but he did not respond to treatments and succumbed to his injuries sometime afterwards. Raghavendra, who suffered head injuries, is undergoing treatment.

A case about the accident stands filed in Brahmavar police station. Iqbal, who used to work as driver, was also involved with timber trade and some other miscellaneous businesses. He was from Nejar village. Raghavendra, a carpenter by profession, belongs to Haluvalli.
