Bengaluru: Caught by police, drunken biker poses as Khader's nephew

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Dec 10: In an incident which occurred in Majestic area of the city, a youth, who was caught when riding a motor bike in drunken state, tried to pass off as the nephew of state health minister, U T Khader. But he failed to trick the police, thanks to alert minister.

At midnight on Tuesday December 8, Anees was moving in his motor bike on city railway station road when he was stopped by Chickpet police. After the policemen found that he had been heavily drunk, Anees tried to influence them by introducing himself as the son of Khader's sister. The policemen, who grew suspicious about his claim, sent him away after confiscating his motor bike.

After he got the news that a person had tried to escape from the clutches of law by claiming himself to be his nephew, U T Khader called up Chickpet traffic inspector to tell him that he had not got anything to do with Anees, and asked the police to proceed as per law.

Police officers said they had seized the motor bike driven by Anees and that he has been booked for drunken driving.

The police sent home because they believed he was Khader's nephew. that means relatives of ministers can get away with everything. They confiscated the bike because I think he was unable to ride and wanted a pat from the Minister. So what is the punishment for drunken driving. Did he have licence, insurance or will he get away with it?

Why did police allow the person to leave ? Was it because he was minister's relative ? Did police have any instruction from the govenment to allow any of the minister's family to get away with any crimes for which ordinary citizens of the country can face punishment ?

at least minister had the courtesy to call up and inform Police. Or else they usually don't get in to these stuffs. Because of that only folks started using this excuse. But tell me one thing, if he is a nephew of a minister, is it mandatory for the police to show some excuse ? No right. How this matters then. Police should have proceeded in their actions even though youth was telling he is ministers nephew. That way, it will be a lesson for other law breakers also.

So it means if he was really UT Khadar's nephew he would get away easily, Ministers should stop this culture of helping their relatives break the law, What was the need for the police to check if he was minister's nephew or not? If he has broken the law no matter who he is should be punished.
Khadar should have come out and said that even if my relative or friend gets caught breaking the law, police should proceed as per law and need not contact me, then his stature would have improved significantly, now he has proved that he is just like any other minister

Good action on what grounds? He was not Khader’s relative. So the minister advised the police to proceed according to the law. And the police booked him for drunken driving after confirming that he was not Khader’s relative. I don’t blame the minister but the police had been unfair and slow in taking prompt action.
