Udupi, Dec 10: International working president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad Pravin Togadia will visit Mangaluru or Udupi on January 6, revealed Bajrang Dal convenor Sharan Pumpwell.
Addressing a press meet here on Thursday December 10, he said, "Togadia will come to the region to attend the Hindu Samajotsava. The venue of the Samajotsava is yet to be decided and information on the same will be given soon."
'Stop Zakir Naik's visit to Mangaluru'
Sharan Pumpwell demanded that the government should stop the proposed visit of Islamic scholar Dr Zakir Naik to Mangaluru. Dr Zakir Naik is reportedly scheduled to visit Mangaluru on January 3.
"Karnataka government is endorsing Zakir Naik by allowing him to come to Mangaluru. Nationalist leaders like Dr Pravin Togadia and Dr Prabhakar Bhat were not allowed address gatherings in Bengaluru and Sakleshpur respectively by the state government. But now the same government allows Zakir Naik who is an anti-national. Many countries have banned him. Bajrang Dal requests the district administration not to allow Zakir Naik to enter Mangaluru," Sharan said.
Datta Mala Abhiyana from Dec 16 to 24, thousands to participate
“Annual Datta Mala Abhiyana will take place from December 16 to 24 this year. Around 50,000 people from throughout the state are expected to be present on the last day," Sharan Pumpwell said, adding, "Around 15,000 people from Udupi, Kasargod, Dakshina Kannada and Kodagu district are expected to take part in the Abhiyana."
He also revealed that Sri Anusuya Devi Puja, Sri Ganapathy Homa and Sri Durga Homa and Sankeerthana Yatre by women will be held on December 22 and Ganapathy Homa, Rudra Homa, and Shobha Yatre and a public meeting will be held in Chikkamagaluru city on December 23.
"Anti-Hindu government"
Criticising the state government, Sharan said, "It is sad to note that the present state government has become totally anti-Hindu. The government is treating the Hindus as second class citizens. It withdrew the anti-cow slaughter law to protect and help the slaughterers. It filed cases against Hindu youth under Goonda Act. Even amid objection, it celebrated Tipu Jayanti, which created rift between communities. As a continuation of this onslaught, it is planning to ban astrology in television to hurt the sentiments of Hindus. Bajrang Dal condemns these things. Bajrang Dal requests the general public to join us in our protest over these issues."
Transfers of police officers
"Unfortunately, the polarisation policy of the state government has reached the police department also. Police stations have become Congress offices now. An efficient and honest police officer Pramod was sent on leave just for arresting an accused in a communal case. By effecting unwanted transfers of honest police officers without valid reasons, Congress leaders are using the police department for vote bank politics. Bajrang Dal condemns this," Sharan said.
