Udupi: Man accused of sexually assaulting five-year-old arrested

Udupi, Dec 12: A 19-year-old, who has been accused of sexually assaulting a five-year-old girl, stands arrested by policemen of Manipal station.

Prashant from Haveri, currently residing at Pragatinagar, Alevoor here, was arrested on Friday December 11. Prashant reportedly committed the said crime on December 8.

On the basis of complaint filed by the parents of the girl, charging the youth residing in the same locality of using the girl to satiate his sexual desires, a case had been registered against the youth. The youth has been booked under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

On being produced in court, the accused was remanded to judicial custody.
