Bhatkal, Dec 12: The local Majlis-e-Islah-o-Tanzeem led a huge protest meet at the taluk stadium on Friday December 11 evening, expressing resentment at blasphemous statements made by Kamlesh Tiwari, a leader of Uttar Pradesh unit of Hindu Mahasabha, against Prophet Mohammad. They said the statement has greatly pained and shocked the Muslims.

Addressing the gathering on this occasion, Maulana Muhammed Ansar Nadvi Madani said that the protest meeting represents the love and affection the people have about the Prophet. He said that the protest is not against any particular person or community. He expressed the hope that Uttar Pradesh chief minister, Akhilesh Yadav, will take necessary action against the guilty.

Maulana Abdul Azeem Khajia, speaking on the occasion, felt that it would not suffice if a protest meeting is held. He expressed the view that an initiative to educate others about the divine persona of Prophet Mohammad should be undertaken. Maulana Khaja Madani advised the crowd that whenever someone speaks ill or or criticizes Prophet Mohammed, it is not right or proper to react to it in the same way.

Tanzeem secretary, Altaf Kharoori, delivered introductory address. Abdul Aleem Khasmi, S M Farvez, Inayatulla Shabandri, and Maulana Muhammed Iqbal Mulla were among those present at the meeting.

    We all say our religions are very tolerant and immediately get upset if something is said against it. All religions are like this.

    If this is tolerance then i shudder to think what intolerance would be.

    As an atheist I tolerate everything except intolerance.

    @Anil Mangalore,because we are in a demokratic Country,have the freedom to speak,should not go beyond the line,specially when you know it hurts someone.Tongue should be under control ,otherwise it can also end that he spoke for the last time.and People revolt These days for simple reason.we have examples nowadays all over the world.should not make about Religion remarks.Everybody feels it

    Dear Brothers,

    It is really said and painful to hear this news. However, please do not take this unpleasant incident into consideration and the comments made by Kamlesh Tiwari, the leader of Uttar Pradesh unit of Hindu Mahasabha against Prophet Mohammad. He might be representing one community and he has hurt sentiments of a particular community but majority people of the community are very good, peace loving and they will not indulge in this type of religious slur. Similarly, there were lot of attacks on religious places in Catholic churches and their leaders. It does not mean that all the majority people are bad and we should not get agitated thereby further flaring communal harmony.
    These types of incidents will occur now and then and they will let go if we do not retaliate. This is my personal opinion and not to heart any one.

    Prophet Mohamed (PBUH) is as holy and revered to Muslims as Sri Krishna is to HIndus and Jesus Christ to Christians..Any one should not make any remarks without knowing the true and divine persona of Prophet Mohamed. Its the ignorance that makes him to make such a heinous statement. Freedom of speech doesn't mean and permit anyone to abuse it and offend others...In the name of freedom of speech I cant scold my neighbour and use bad words against him without any provocation...This Tiwari is against his own religion...Hinduism respects other religion as much as Islam and Christianity respect others religions...People should hold peaceful only peaceful and meaningful protests..

    You are very correct. Since BJP came into power, several reckless politicians began to utter totally hurting idiotic nonsense to provoke anger for the religious followers of other religions.

    Recently in UP, one of the oldest CNI Church at Meerut was attacked by the street goons and the Christian had a protest march.

    If Mr. Modi won't take stern and affirmative actions to shut the mouth of these trouble makers, but ignoring and travelling around the world, that is a terrible delinquency and irresponsibility.
