Udupi, Dec 13: For the past few days, news has been spread through social media especially WhatsApp that says superintendent of police (SP) of the district Annamalai will be transferred soon from Udupi. Though this news has not appeared in other media, people did not take it as just rumour.

SP Annamalai who is known as efficient and honest officer has been liked by general public. But at the same time his actions have become unpleasant for some anti -social elements. As a practice, these elements try their best to transfer any officer they do not like. So after the news came that Annamalai would be transferred, people have started believing that he would indeed be transferred. People have started demanding that Annamalai is a needed in Udupi. They have been sending messages that they are against his transfer and he should continue as their SP. These messages are flooded in WhatsApp for the past two days too.

It should be remembered that Annamalai took charge as SP on January 1 this year and he is yet to complete a year. Before that he served as assistant police superintendent (ASP) based in Karkal. From the day he arrived in Karkal, he has been known as a no-nonsense and people friendly officer.

Rumours were also doing rounds that Pejawar Shree is not happy with Annamalai. But a statement from math has denied these rumours saying Annamalai has been cooperative with them and the math or seer do not have any differences with the officer.
