Udupi, Dec 13: Senior leader Janardhan Poojary addressing a press meet on Saturday December 12 said, "The responsibility of the government is not to create problems, but to find solutions. The central government is not acting in favour of those who are promoting development of society.

He spoke on the controversial case pertaining to ‘National Herald’ and said that Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi will move High court against it.

Pointing at BJP he said, "During their term everyone has committed the same mistake. They have twisted the history of Indira Gandhi in the National Herald case."

He questioned Modi's control over parliament and believed that he is destroying the country.

He appreciated the media for their work in protecting democracy. If there is no truth in what is printed, then let the matter rest. It is not right, for journalists to be attacked for any simple reason.

"Bihar has proved Modi's expectations wrong in the poll by the defeat of BJP. People have a level of patience. The defeat of BJP is an alert call. Development cannot take place without tolerance, " Poojary said.

On the Yettinahole project Poojary said both Congress and BJP leaders are involved in this. He also alleged that the anti-environmentalists will now destroy nature. "The actual project cost was Rs 8,000 crore, but now the cost of the project has reached Rs 12,900 crore. He added there is need for awareness to be created among the public and to make them realize the impact of this project." he said.

He mentioned about a possible drought in the coming year due to which the coastal people will have to face water scarcity.

On the MLC polls he said, "I have spoken to Jayaprakash Hegde, Harikrishna Bantwal and others not to file their nominations, but now the decision of the high command is final and it needs to be respected. Every candidate has their own capabilities. Rights are conferred on by the Indian constitution.
