Mangaluru, Dec 13: The Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy on Sunday December 13 launched a documentary on Beary language and flagged off a series of its shows at Town Hall here.

The documentary was launched by noted literatteur and film director Nagathihalli Chandrashekar.

The function was formally inaugurated by lighting the lamp by all the dignitaries on the dais.

Addressing the gathering, he said, "Sometimes, we give importance only to big things and ignore the small ones. But these small things have a lot of importance, so we need to pay attention to them. Language is closely associated with our business, culture, lifestyle and many more things. We have to protect our language with great love. In today's globalized world there is a need to protect our language. Love and respect all languages, but practice your language. If you understand deeply, all languages convey the message that we are all children of one mother. We can find an alternative for everything but not for language. I congratulate and wish all success to everyone gathered here."

Addressing the gathering, Mangaluru south MLA J R Lobo said, "Beary Academy has always conducted good programmes. These kind of programmes will help in the development and promotion of language. I congratulate all of you present here and wish all success in your future endeavors."
