Mangaluru: Chain snatched from old woman near Mulky

Mangaluru, Dec 14: An old woman, who was returning from the temple, lost her chain to a chain snatcher on the way on Sunday, December 13.

Rajivi S Hegde (80) had gone to the temple for prayers in the morning. When she walked back home, a young man aged about 25 came in a bike and snatched the gold chain from her neck. The chain which weighed 8 sovereigns is worth Rs 1. 5 lac.

The old woman shouted for help but as it was a thinly populated place, nobody could hear her. The chain snatcher wore a helmet, she said.

Mulky police have registered a case.
