'Kung Fu Panda 3', 'Gambit' set for India release in 2016


New Delhi, Dec 16 (IANS): Hollywood buffs in the country have a reason to rejoice as Fox Star Studios has unveiled a list of films ranging from animated films like "Kung Fu Panda 3" to superhero ones such as "Deadpool" that will release next year.

Animated films like "Kung Fu Panda 3" (April 1), "Ice Age: Collision Course" (July 15), and superhero films like "Deadpool" (Feb 12), "Gambit" (October 7) and "X-Men: Apocalypse" (May 20) will be released in 2016 by Fox Star in India. 

"We are thrilled to announce the 2016 line up for Hollywood films for Fox Star Studios. We have some really exciting films lined up for the year including 'Deadpool', 'Kung Fu Panda 3', 'X Men: Apocalypse', 'Independence Day: Resurgence' and 'Ice Age: Collision Course'," Fox Star Studios CEO Vijay Singh said in a statement. 

The list also includes a sequel to the 1996 American epic science fiction film "Independence Day", which is titled "Independence Day: Resurgence".

The studio also brings Golden Globe nominees "The Revenant" starring Leonardo DiCaprio, and "Joy", featuring Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper, to India next year. 

"The Revenant" will release on February 19 and "Joy" will hit the screens on January 22.
