Man who stole cash, recharge coupons, held - things recovered

Mangaluru, Dec 18: A person who allegedly stole cash and other items belonging to Walter D'Souza, who runs a mobile recharge shop at Valencia in the city, was arrested on Thursday December 17 by Pandeshwar police.

Rajaram alias Ganesh from Pajaradka in Kalmanje village in Beltangady taluk stands nabbed for stealing things which belonged a shop named Video Tran at Valencia, owned by Walter D'Souza on the night of December 7. Cash and equipment relating to mobile recharge including recharge coupons, totally worth Rs 1,01,465 were recovered from his possession.

Walter had, as was his practice, placed a bag containing cash and other things on his scooter, before turning towards his shop, pulling down shutters, and locking them. By the time he returned to the scooter, the bag had been taken away, and a police complaint was filed thereafter.
