Mumbai, Dec 19 (TOI): Mumbai police arrested around 30 members of Shiv Sena, Rashtriya Hindu Sena and Bajrang Dal for trying to disrupt shows of Shah Rukh Khan's starrer 'Dilwale' that released on Friday at various venues across the city.

In neighbouring Kalyan, at Metro Junction Mall, Shiv Sena workers, under the leadership of corporator Navin Gavali and local leader Prashant Kale, even forced an Inox theatre to cancel all shows. Kale said, "We have asked the theatre owner to not show the movie as Shah Rukh has hurt the sentiments of the country with his statement." Khan had recently spoken out against intolerance.

In Mumbai, police said around 10-15 people turned up to protest outside Inox at Dadar.

Cops, who were already on alert and had deployed precautionary bandobast at major cinema halls, arrested nine protesters.

Similarly, in the late afternoon, D B Marg police arrested around 13 persons for protesting outside Super Cinema at Lamington Road. Police said the protest was peaceful.

In Goregaon East, a group of around 10 protested outside PVR cinema at Oberoi Mall around 9.30am. Police said the group dispersed in a short while and no case was registered against them.

All the accused were booked under Section 135 of Bombay Police Act and later released on bail.
