Puttur: Accident near Ichlampady - Boy from Bengaluru killed, several injured

Puttur, Dec 20: A boy from Bengaluru was killed and several others injured in an accident near Ichlampady here on Sunday December 20.

The deceased has been identified as Deepak (11), son of Babu and Latha, residents of Rajajinagar, Bengaluru.

It is learnt that 14 people from Bengaluru, including Deepak, were going to Dharmasthala in a tempo traveller. When they reached Korameru near Ichlampady, the driver lost control and the vehicle toppled.

Deepak was killed and at least 10 others were injured.

Among the injured, Suresh (32) who was driving, Varalaxmi (30), Nagamma (65) and Shakuntala (55) were admitted to a private hospital in Puttur, while Jayamma, Ravikumar, Latha, Deepika, Arvind and Rani were taken to a hospital in Mangaluru.

Puttur traffic police have registered a case.
