Mangaluru, Dec 20: Fatima Retreat House celebrated Christmas with about 400 orphans from 7 different orphanages from across the city on Saturday December 19.
Fr Denis Rasquinha, a boy, a girl, a staff of Fatima Retreat House and a staff of Bhagini Samaj inaugaurated the programme by lighting the lamp.
Fr Prashanth in his address thanked the students for taking part in the celebration. "We are extremely delighted by your arrival. You are our esteemed guests. There are only two kind of people in the world who have the pure hearts - children and a few people like Jesus. We see Jesus in you," he said.
The children from the following orphanages took part in the celebration and exhibited their talents.
1.Bhagini Samaj
2.Infant Mary's orphanage, Kulshekar
3.Bal Yesu Nilaya, Maryhill
4.De Mercede, Panir
5.Zeenath Baksh, Bunder
6. Prashanth Nivas, Jeppu
7. Stella Maris, Kotekar
Christmas delicacy Kuswar was distributed and games were also conducted for all the children.
Coordinator of the programme Fr Richard Mascarenhas was also present.
