Rohit Bal to close Lakme Fashion Week Summer-Resort 2016

Mumbai, Dec 23 (IANS): Rohit Bal will bring the curtain down on the Lakme Fashion Week Summer-Resort 2016 (LFW) as the grand finale designer of the event, to be held from March 30 to April 3 here next year.

The fashion gala will be held at hotel St. Regis.

After presenting a finale show for Lakme Fashion Week last in 2012, Bal is back for his second innings as grand finale designer at the forthcoming edition, said a statement.

The designer will work closely with Lakmé make-up experts to create stellar looks for the runway that will set the beauty and fashion trends for the upcoming season.

Commenting about the association, Bal said: "Great to be back again! Always a pleasure to work with the Lakmé team. The most incredible part about doing Lakmé Fashion Week is the Carte Blanche the designer is given. A complete and uninterrupted creative flow is what Lakmé has given me.

"That in itself makes doing the finale precious and priceless. I am thrilled to be given this opportunity."

Purnima Lamba, head of Innovation, Lakmé, is equally excited.

"For the Lakme grand finale in summer 2016, we are thrilled to collaborate with the avant garde Rohit Bal to lend his unique interpretation to Lakmé's fashion vision. For the first time this season, we will be unveiling a new skin care range at LFW, along with make-up. We look forward to Lakme's trend statement rendition into couture by Rohit Bal, and the new beauty trends from the Lakmé Fashion Week runway," said Lamba.
