Mangaluru, Dec 23: Mangaluru city block Congress on Wednesday December 23 staged a protest in front of Mangaluru City Corporation against the NDA-led BJP government for indulging in 'political vendetta' against Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi in connection with the National Herald case.

Addressing the protest, deputy mayor Purshotham Chitrapur said, "In democracy, it is the duty of the opposition to show the failure of the ruling party. But in this case, BJP has indulged in hate politics. By filing false cases against Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and others, it is trying to curb democratic practices.

"Congress party activists are protesting across the nation. As there is no strong reason to corner Congress, BJP has used its agent Subramanian Swamy to file the case against Congress leaders," he alleged.

Corporator Shashidar Hegde said, "Before elections, BJP made many promises to people but it has failed to fulfil them. Instead, BJP is busy filing false cases against Congress leaders. Subramanian Swamy is a CIA agent trying to mislead Indian politics to facilitate the enemy nation."

District Congress interim president Ibrahim Kodijal also slammed the NDA-led BJP government for pursuing 'political vendetta' in connection with the National Herald case.

P V Mohan, Ashok D K, T K Sudheer and others were present.

Ha Ha Ha. Where is the standard dialog of these politicians "Law will take its own course" When you wanted others to follow the law, why are you afraid. Face the court in honor and humility.

Deputy Mayor says it is the duty of Opposition party to show the failure of ruling party, that is true but disruption in Parliament and Rajya Sabha shows how disrespectful opposition party is towards the constitution and towards the well being of the Nation. Politicians should know that the National interest is first and then the Party interest. With due respect to him can he touch his heart and say his party is a Saints party and they do not practice hate Politics, who has d Emergency, was it by his party supremo or the other?????

What nonsense by Congress. Without knowing the subject matter they started protesting. Do they know what National Herald case is? For their political growth they should not blame anyone or any party. If they have guts let them prove that they are clean.
Since this case was filed During UPV tenure @ 2012 by independent petitioner why they are blaming Present government. Because of such matters they failed to sit in opposition also. If it continues they won’t get even a single seat in coming elections.
Be frank. We will support you for your good works & not for your fake protests.

Must have been incited by the Congress brass, otherwise they have no business. Why not let justice take its course in the courts and the accused leaders stand up in court and defend their conduct rather than hold up Parliamentary business and engage in protests incited by them?

We as citizens blaming and commenting on each others posts does not change any reality..The reality is most politicians irrespective of the party which they represent are exploiting this divide and rule policy among we poor and pathetic citizens ..They are seeking to gain personal mileage by making a mockery of our democracy..If it is the only dream and wish of every politician to serve our people, then the common motto should invite unity and not such animosity among political parties..
