Beltangady: Pilgrim drowns in River Netravati

Beltangady, Dec 26: Manoj (17) from Yalahanka satellite township at Bengaluru, who had come to Dharmasthala as a pilgrim, slipped at the bathing bay of the river and drowned in River Netravati on Friday December 25 morning.

Manoj had arrived at the temple town along with some of his relatives. It is said that he was taking holy bath in the river, when he suddenly slipped and fell into the water. As he did not possess the skill of swimming, he suffocated to death, it is gathered.

On the basis of a complaint filed by Raman Kumar from Yalahanka satellite township, a case stands registered about the incident at Beltangady police station.
