Udupi: Generator thief arrested- Goods, vehicle worth Rs 6 lac seized

Udupi, Dec 26: Police team led by DCBI inspector T R Jaishankar arrested a person who was allegedly involved in the theft of generators.


Javed Mohammed Sayyed (38) originally from Haranahalli in Shivamogga taluk who lived in Canacona near Goa and also in Shivamogga city is the person arrested. Police have seized 3 generators and a Tata pick up with registration number GA 06 T 3010 worth Rs 5, 97,000.

The cases stood registered at Gangolli and Byndoor police stations for the stolen generators.

ASI Rosario D’Souza, Ravichandra, Chandra Shetty, Ramu Hegde, Santosh Kunder, Suresh K, Raghavendra Uppunda, Shivananda Poojary, Dayananda Prabhu, Rajkumar Byndoor, Naveen Chandra and Raghavendra participated in the operation led by inspector T R Jaishankar. The entire operation was done under the guidance and supervision of superintendent of police Annamalai, additional superintendent of police Santosh Kumar and Manjunath Shetty from Kundapur division.
