Udupi: SP Annamalai to be transferred to Bengaluru: Sources

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (UM)

Udupi, Dec 28: If sources are to be believed, superintendent of police (SP) Annmalai is likely to be transferred to Bengaluru by December 31.

Sources said that Annamalai is being promoted and transferred to the post of DCP (west), Bengaluru.

The post is currently being held by Labhu Ram, who had earlier served as SP of Dakhina Kannada.

Sources also said that Labhu Ram is likely to be transferred to Lokayukta, probably in place of Sonia Narang.

However, it is also said that due to zilla panchayat elections to be held in January or February, the transfer may be postponed. Sources said that an early transfer of Annamalai may hinder Congress' chances in the ZP polls, as BJP and people in general are already protesting against Annamalai's transfer. Hence, the transfer may be put off till March, sources said.

Annamalai has been serving in Udupi district for the post two-and-a-half years, first as ASP of Karkala with additional charge of Kundapur, and then as SP of Udupi district from the past one year. Normally, ASP is not promoted to the of SP in the same district, but an exception was made in case of Annamalaik due to his uprightness and efficient, good work.

There have been allegations that Annamalai's probable tranfer was being done on behest of some groups who were not happy with the tight hold he had on anti-social elements, but he had dismissed the rumours.

It is very sad to hear the news of transfer of honest SP Mr. Annamalai. We request concerned ministry to hold his transfer, because we need his service in Udupi.

Indeed Mr. Annamali has been very straightforward AND AN UPRIGHT PERSON. HE SERVED AS S.P. OF UDIPI DISTRICT WITH DEDICATION AND HAS WON THE ADMIRATION OF SEVERAL GROUPS, INSTITUTIONS AND INDIVIDUALS.

His relocation is a loss to people in Udipi area.

I join several others in saying kudos to Mr. Annamali. May his current promotion be a forerunner of many more to follow.

This is called as kicking upward!
Which means if any upright honest Govt officer is found to be a big hurdle to corrupt politicians then they give him promotion and transfer him from that place. Because if he is transferred without giving promotion then the local people will rise against those corrupt politicians. So,to avoid displeasure to the local people this game of promotion and transfer is played by corrupt selfish politicians . This happens all over India in the case of Honest strict officers. Soniya Narang who exposed Lokayuktha Bhaskar Rao's son is now being shunted out of Lokayukta by giving promotion to her.
