Vh1 Supersonic 2015 returns with more music, fun

Panaji, Dec 28 (IANS): Starting a musical affair with Grammy-nominated English electronic music duo Disclosure and Canadian electro music duo Zeds Dead to bring diverse sounds from the world of electronic dance music (EDM), Vh1 Supersonic 2015 found its way back to the shores of Candolim beach here with more power, action and fun.

It was entirely a moment of "lights, camera and music" when the third edition of the music festival plugged in the EDM chords here on Sunday.

The four-day festival, conceptualised by popular DJ Nikhil Chinapa and Live Viacom 18, set the pace of the dance party open for all through the whole day with sets by Disc Jockeys (DJs) Delhi Sultanate, Arjun Wagale and Breed.

But the best was saved for the last. Disclosure made its debut in India on the Supersonic stage.

Disclosure is an electronic music duo of brothers Howard and Guy Lawrence whose debut album "Settle" was nominated for Best Dance/Electronica Album at the 2014 Grammy Awards.

They found a spot this time as well in the same category of Grammys with their "Caracal" album. Their popularity was evident as the crowd gravitated to the stage named 'Iron Heart' like moth to a flame at their set's announcement.

From "F for you" to "Nocturnal", the duo belted out energetic tracks with fast beats and variation in tempo, giving everyone a reason to stand up and shake a leg.

The set with psychedelic lights was not only high on an infectious vibe, but was also fiery as two girls were matching their dance steps with flame in hands on the stage.

The duo was also excited to start a music relationship with the country as they said: "Disclosure is in India for the first time and we are glad that it is here (Supersonic)."

Disclosure was the high point of the day, but Zeds Dead paved a away for themselves as they emerged as the modern day pied piper, pulling the people into his arena of music. What caught attention and left everyone grooving was the song "I like to move it".

Well, the day one was not all about foreign talent. Homegrown artists like Delhi Sultanate, Arjun Wagale and, Breed also found spotlight.

And what makes a festival memorable other than music, is infectious atmosphere, which stands true for the fest.

Want to experience something beyond music? Then check out the flea market or experience other stuff at the venue. Or just check out the Hungama's whimsical triangular walkway to EZone's trippy 270 degree dome animation.

With a gentle breeze whispering in your ears, moon shimmering over your head, humming of water as it hits the shores, the music seemed hypnotic as the festival enthralled fans with music and dance against the backdrops of sand, surf and fun.

The day two will see artists such as Zedd, Don Diablo, Teddy Killers, Joris Voorn and Nic Fanciuli taking over the console and spreading musical wave.
