Puttur, Dec 29: Doomappa Moolya (60) living near Kaudichchar of Ariyadka village in the taluk was on his way to attend a house warming ceremony, when a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus knocked him down, causing his instant death. The incident occurred near Kaudichchar near Ariyadka in the taluk on Mani-Mysuru state highway on Monday December 28 night.
On Monday night, a religious ceremony in connection with the house warming ceremony of a private bus conductor had been organized. Doomappa was walking by the roadside to attend this programme, when a bus moving towards the town from the direction of Sullia hit him. Moolya, who suffered serious injuries, lost his life on the spot.
Sampya police have registered a case. The deceased is survived by wife, two sons, and two daughters.
