Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Dec 29: As a goodwill gesture, Muslims have decided to actively take part in the approaching Paryaya celebrations of Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math. District Samasta Muslim Paryaya Sauharda Samiti has unveiled a plan to contribute in its own way to the ideal of harmonious coexistence by getting involved with Paryaya celebrations.

The Samiti will be arranging to supply cold drinks to people during the 'Purapravesha' procession of the Swamiji. Later, it will take Horekanike contributed by Muslims to Pejawar Math in a procession. The Samiti has also decided to organize during Paryaya festivities, blood donation camp and felicitation programme.

These details were provided by president of the Samiti, Haji K Abubakker Parkala, at a press conference held here on Monday December 28. He said that at the 'Purapravesha' ceremony on January 4, the Samiti will set cold drinks stall on the procession route, and Horekanike will be delivered to the Math on January 10. He requested Muslims and Muslim organizations to deliver their respective donations by way of Horekanike to the Samiti before that date. On January 17, under the aegis of the Samiti and Pejawar Blood Donating Team, blood donation camp will be held at Sanskrit College premises. This camp will be inaugurated by Pejawar Swamiji, he explained.

In support of this blood donation camp, G Shankar Family Trust will be distributing free health insurance cards for Rs 30,000 with a validity period of six months to blood donors. During the camp, head of the department of surgery, KMC Hospital Manipal, Dr Ramachandra, will be felicitated, he added.

General secretary of the Samiti, Hamjat Hejmadykody, joint secretary, Muihammed Arif, secretary Muhammed Nabeel, and treasurer, Ansar Ahmed, were present at the press conference.
